Team Kenzie for Candlelighters
Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada holds an annual 5K & 1 Mile Race For Kids. This event is held every year to help raise money for kids with cancer because kids can't fight cancer alone. When MaKenzie Hanover learned that she had cancer at the age of 14, her family joined the race and formed Team Kenzie. The team's first year earned recognition for the largest family team and the most money raised in 2010. Unfortunately, MaKenzie lost her battle with cancer the next year, but Team Kenzie lives on. For the second year in a row, Team Kenzie earned recognition for the largest family team in 2011. We've been working hard to reclaim top honors each year and look forward to continuing to raise money for kids fighting cancer! In 2015, we returned to the top by earning Top Fundraising Family Team with over $10,000 raised!
